Bill Moyers Speaks the Truth

Bill Moyers’ back on TV Every Friday  — 8pm — KLRU-tv — Austin, Texas

Original Post below

“The rich have the right to buy more gizmos but they don’t have the right to buy democracy.”

I sure have missed Bill Moyers’ thoughtful insights into our nation’s culture, politics and common life since he retired from PBS television broadcast journalism last year.

He returned to the campus of the University of Texas in mid-November to present the first Tom Johnson Lecture in the LBJ Library. Moyers, who graduated from UT in 1956 and went on to work with President Lyndon B Johnson in the 1960s, was ordained a Baptist minister in the progressive denomination at First Baptist Church just south of the university when he was a college student.

As our country reels deeper into the Land of Division, I often ask – “Sure would like to hear what Bill thinks about this.”

The promise of a new Bill Moyers television show next year also brings a big smile.
